Miscellaneous – Credit Pulls in BNTouch
Pull A Client’s Credit Information in
BNTouch
BNTouch is introducing a powerful new
feature to your Mortgage CRM: the ability to pull credit information for your
clients! Whether you are updating information in your mortgage database or
sending your next marketing campaign, you can now perform credit pulls for your
clients, review or download the information in their record, and keep detailed
logs of each report made in your account.
This new feature is free with your
BNTouch subscription, and you will not need to activate any modules to access
the Credit Pull tool—it will be available for all CRM accounts soon. The Credit
Pull feature can be used via several Credit Reporting Agencies (“CRA”), so you
can use any of the available options that you have an existing agreement with
by integrating your account within BNTouch.

How to Perform a Credit Pull
To pull credit information for one of
your clients, you can either manually request the credit pull or perform it as
part of an automated marketing campaign.
When you open a client’s record in the
Mortgages Tab, you will see a new sub-tab labeled, “Credit Pulls”. Here, you
can perform a credit pull for that borrower at any time by clicking the “Pull
Credit” button. You will then be able to choose the borrower or co-borrower you
wish to collect credit info for, select a Credit Reporting Agency to perform
the pull, and click “Pull Credit”. It’s that easy – the request will be sent
and added to that mortgage record, and once it has been processed, you can
review the results.
Alternatively, you can perform Credit
Pulls automatically as part of your Marketing Campaigns. In the Marketing Tab,
open a Campaign, then create a new Step. When you choose the Delivery Method
for the campaign, choose “Pull Credit” from the list of options. You can also
select this option when editing an existing campaign step using the “Step
Method” drop-down menu underneath the Step Editor. When you perform a credit
pull via a Marketing Campaign, the default CRA will be used, and the results
will appear in the recipient’s Mortgage Record once it has been completed or
rejected.

Where is the Client’s Credit Report?
To review credit report information for a
client, simply open their record in the Mortgages Tab and click the “Credit
Pulls” sub-tab. All pull requests for that borrower will be listed
chronologically, and the “State” field will show whether the request is “New”
and still pending, “Completed” and ready to review, or “Rejected” and therefore
unavailable.
Click the Actions Menu icon to the right
of a Completed request to learn more about the result. From here, you can click
“View Data” to see a detailed report of the client’s credit information. You
can also “Download” the report as a .PDF file to your local computer for your
own records or click “Copy to Documents” to send the .PDF to the client’s
“Documents” sub-tab. This can make the information available to your co-workers
for review.

Configuring the Credit Pull Tool
You can review credit pull activity and
configure account and notification settings for this feature in the Options Tab
using the “Credit Pulls” link. Here, you can use the “History” sub-tab to
review all credit pull requests made from your CRM account, including all
clients and CRAs used to perform the pulls. This log will provide links to each
client’s record, and you can review report data or download them as .PDF files
just like within a client’s file.
The “Providers” sub-tab lets you choose
which Credit Reporting Agencies are enabled for use with the Credit Pull
feature. Each CRA that is “Enabled” will appear in the drop-down menu used to
select a provider when performing a credit check. You can also set one CRA as
the “Default” option, which will be used for Campaign-based credit pulls. For
each CRA that you work with, you can enter account login details to make them
available for use in your CRM.
Lastly, the “Settings” tab allows you to
set up email, SMS, or push notifications for CRM users and clients for when a
credit pull request has successfully completed. You can also elect to include a
.PDF copy of the report within email-based notifications from here.
